The MCD College library was established
in the year 1972 along with the college establishment and
started functioning in the very same year. The glimpses of
the library are following:

i) Books: 12,000 nos.
ii) E-Books: 97,000 nos. including N-LIST Consortium

iii) Print Journals: 15 nos.
iv) E-journals: 6000 nos.

Computerization: Library
having Local Area Network (LAN) with 8 Nodes with
Server. Complete database of books is available through
OPAC. Automation is completed with SOUL Software
provided by INFLIBNET Centre, Ahmedabad.

Library Sections:
a) Stack Section: Here, the main collection of
the college in the form of Text Books is kept. The
number of volumes is nearly 11,700 at present. Due to
open access system, students and teachers are free to
visit the stack area to select their own choice.
b) Reference Section: Here, the rare and valuable
collection is kept as reference source. Nearly 1000
volumes of valuable books are there for use by various
categories of users like renowned personalities,
resource persons, research scholars and university and
college students.
c) Periodical Section: This section contains
almost 15 periodicals ranging from research level,
career opportunities and popular magazines.
d) Newspaper Section: This section houses 5 nos.
of newspaper.
e) N-LIST Programme: The College is now having
the latest INFLIBNET Programme called National Library &
Information Service of Scholarly Content (N-LIST)
through which more than 6100 e-journals (including
current issues with 5-10 years back files) and more than
97,000 plus e-books are accessible for any user using
login ID and Password. Students are allowed to use this
facility from the Central Library.
f) N. E. Block: This section is having Micro
Literature of North-Eastern Regions.
